Social responsibility

Our commitment

Simply put, social responsibility means doing the right thing. We strive to develop products that improve quality of life and conserve resources. We operate in an environmentally and socially sustainable way, creating a trusted environment where our employees, partners and customers can thrive.

Environmental sustainability

Sustainability means more to Disruptive Technologies than simply the fulfillment of legal requirements. Our products are highly miniaturized with exceptionally long life, keeping the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) to a minimum amount.

Disruptive products are labelled as required by the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU. Since there is a battery inside the sensors, the Battery Directive 2006/66/E also applies.

The crossed-out wheelie-bin symbol in our labeling informs customers that Disruptive products must not be disposed together with waste, but rather delivered to an authorized collection site for recycling of electronic waste and batteries.

The packaging used for shipment of our products is also designed with an environmental perspective. In compliance with the Packaging and Waste Directive 94/62/EC, Disruptive Technologies includes the Green Dot symbol on our packaging.

Our product labeling confirms our participation in take-back programs, providing return of the waste of our products free of charge, in all countries where we operate and our products are sold.

Code of Conduct for suppliers and business partners

Disruptive Technologies has strict requirements for our suppliers and business partners concerning their business ethics and their responsibilities towards stakeholders and the environment. We expect them to comply with our standards with respect to human and worker rights, protection of the environment, and anti-corruption, as outlined in our Code of Conduct.

We also reserve the right to monitor supplier compliance by systematic, announced or unannounced audits conducted by own personnel or independent, third party auditors. Our raw material suppliers must guarantee that sourcing, in particular for minerals such as gold, tantalum, tungsten or tin, is conducted responsibly and from conflict-free zones, according to international laws and regulations.

Suppliers or any other third-parties who become aware of any infringement of applicable laws or the Disruptive Technologies Code of Conduct, are encouraged to immediately report these concerns in accordance with their internal rules and procedures, and may also report directly to the compliance function at
